ELSPETH FRANKS

ELSPETH FRANKS made her Bay Area opera debut playing Meg Page in Falstaff for West Bay Opera in 1992. Since then, audiences have seen her as
- Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro, (Pocket Opera)
- Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier (Oakland Lyric Opera)
- Berta in The Barber of Seville (Bear Valley Music Festival), and
- Suzuki in Madama Butterfly (West Bay Opera)
A featured concert performer, the lyric-mezzo has also appeared in Plump Jack, Hansel & Gretel, Teseo, The Turn of the Screw, Die Fledermaus, Faust, The Magic Flute, Romeo and Juliette, L’etoile, The Consul, and Wuornos (workshop, 1999). Franks attended the University of Michigan School of Music at Ann Arbor and the Royal Northern College of Music at Manchester, UK.
