ERIC COYNE most recently appeared
as Orgon in Kirke Mechem’s Tartuffe with West Bay Opera. Other comic
roles have included Dr. Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, Sacristan
in Tosca, and Ali Ben Ali in Romberg’s The Desert Song. The
bass is known throughout Europe for his Mozart interpretations, including
Simone in La Finta Semplice (Opera Piccola, Bremen), Count Almaviva
in The Marriage of Figaro (East Slovakian State Opera, KoŠice), and
Leporello in Don Giovanni (City Opera of Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic).
In the more dramatic Verdi repertoire, Coyne has appeared as Samuel in Un
Ballo in Maschera (Silesian State Opera of Opava, Czech Republic), and
Sparafucile in Rigoletto (Livermore Valley Opera).
