Diana Kehrig

DIANA KEHRIG was a regular member of the New York City Opera Company under the direction of Julius Rudel and Beverly Sills. Kehrig, a mezzo-soprano, has performed with such companies as the Cincinnati Opera, Miami Opera, Washington Opera at the Kennedy Center, Baltimore Opera, The Opera Company of Philadelphia, Art Park New York, Fort Worth Opera, Wolf Trap, and the San Francisco Western Opera Theater.

Her many portrayals include:

  • Zelina in Don Giovanni
  • Despina in Cosi fan tutte
  • Papagena in The Magic Flute
  • Frasquita in Carmen
  • Cyrobel in Thaďs, and
  • Gouvenot in Adriana Lecouvreur with Placido Domingo.

Kehrig appeared on Broadway in Help! Help! The Globolinks! and Amahl and the Night Visitors. Her portrayal of Peep Bo in The Mikado with the New York City Opera won Kehrig her first movie role in Foul Play with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase.


Since then she has appeared in several commercials, television episodes, and feature films, most recently in Nash Bridges and Bi-Centennial Man. Kehrig holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Known to audiences throughout Europe, she recently recorded Plump Jack in Baden Baden, Germany with the Russian National Orchestra.
